Update 11/1/22: Our crews have transitioned into holiday lighting and decorating for the upcoming season. Currently our Landscaping and Maintenance Services will be on hold until late winter/early Spring 2023. Crews will be completing ladder re-training and refresher classes as well as switch over all our trailers/trucks to prepare for the busy weeks leading up to Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year 2023. Landscape estimates, consultations and designing will start up in February/March 2023. We are currently working on early holiday installations that started in October and continuing to Thanksgiving weekend. We have some limited availability for new clients this year for after Thanksgiving into the first 2 weeks of December. Keep in mind there is limited availability each season due to high demand and weather permitting so contact us early for more info and current availability.

September 2022 Back to School season for many of us parents and also continuing to deal with COVID, supply disruptions and labor shortages that have impacted all industries. That’s our son Jason starting 10th grade at Glastonbury Highschool this year and you can tell he loves school lol! He was really excited to meet all his special needs teachers and friends. Mom was kind of nervous last week but pretty excited too 🙂

Many of us are also looking forward to the long Labor Day weekend and the return of fall festivals and celebrations before the cold. I especially enjoy the cookouts and hopefully some nice weather. This time of year, also sees the official start of local Fairs and cooler fall evenings. I still recall over 25 years ago Ron and I would setup a booth for the Hebron Harvest Festival and the temperatures would be 80-90 during the day and drop down into the chilly 50s as soon as the sun set.

As a reminder we will be starting to wind down our landscape services at the end of September first week of October so we can transition into our holiday decorating services. So if you have any major renovation projects, they will have to wait until spring. We sometimes go out and take photos and measurements in the fall while snow-free so we can work on budgets, design and landscaping estimates in late winter as we wait for the snow to melt. Speaking of fall planning, once the leaves start falling many of you will start noticing that you can now see your neighbors yards again and also that means they can see you and your activities. By planting a privacy screening of evergreens, you can eliminate some of this. Ron has been at the new Prides Corner Farms Nursery Cromwell/Rocky Hill location and the fall selection of shrubs and perennials is looking great and the fully stocked trees are very healthy and freshly dug. Planting this time of year also makes for easier watering due to cooler evening temperatures and this goes for lawns as well. Less competition from summer weeds and heat.

Fact: Fall is the Best time to plant trees and shrubs as well as repairing lawns. The fall moisture (rains) helps the trees and shrubs establish their root systems. When the air temperatures are cooler than the soil, new root growth is encouraged without new top growth. The result is a stronger, better developed root system for the next

Reminder that it’s never too early to start planning for the fall and upcoming winter holidays. We’ve been designing holiday quotes and scheduling since July so now’s the time to contact us if you are planning a holiday event and need some professional help. We are anticipating high demand and limited availability again this season due to everyone continuing to stay at home versus traveling due to continued COVID precautions.
