My Backyard Oasis

The sun is finally out! After almost a week of cloudy, cold and dreary weather the final remnants of snow are slowly disappearing from my yard. Hopefully yours too 🙂 I went and uncovered my grill yesterday and cooked some chicken and shrimp for dinner since it was warm enough to start to feel like Spring. No adirondack chairs, hammock or carpet outside yet but I have a feeling that Ron will be taking some pieces out of storage soon to start decorating and furnishing the patio in no time. Can’t wait!

Which reminds me that I have to replace the 2 canopies we have for our gazebos along with our grill cover this year. I’ve been ordering them online for the past 15 years and the company offers different grades of material based on location and use. They also have tons of other outdoor living items for patio and pool areas including replacements for swings, pergola shades, umbrellas, cushions, hammocks and more: Garden Winds

Create an open outdoor living area with a view of your backyard for the warmer seasons by installing an open gazebo/canopy on a patio with side curtains for privacy & protection from the elements and insects.  You can even create different areas on a paver patio for relaxing with a good book,  grilling, enjoying a fire, children’s area with picnic table, entertaining with friends around a bar or even that hot tub you’ve always wanted…the ideas are endless. Let us show you how to create an outdoor patio designed with your lifestyle and specific needs in mind. We have a great design program that allows us to show you your backyard project in 3D so you not only envision your new space but can also plan smartly for furniture and other backyard accessories.

Patio Area with Unilock Fire Place

One of the hottest trends for 2017 continues to be outdoor entertaining. Folks are incorporating fireplaces, outdoor fire pits, grills & propane heaters in their backyard so they can enjoy a cozy fire during the cool evenings of spring, summer, and fall. For decades, homeowners out West and down South, have extended their quality time outdoors by installing heating elements that are functional as well as enjoyable. In addition to the pool and hot tub,  fire pit areas open up the options when company comes over. If they don’t want to get wet, they can still hang outside comfortably.

Visit: http://www.woodlanddirect.com/ for more ideas on fire places, fire pits, tables, bowls (either propane or wood burning options.)

Sometimes adding an inviting water feature like a fountain, or small stream or pond less waterfall along side the patio or deck offers tranquility, through sound and motion for enjoying an evening fire with family and friends.

If you had a pool installed last fall or thinking of getting one this year to beat the heat, now is the time to start planning the surrounding area. Whether it’s pavers to help the transition from pool to house and also to put some lounge chairs and umbrella on for shade or perhaps you need to screen your activities from your neighbors with a privacy planting. Now’s the time for planning.
